I'm told that the west is the direction of rebirth; that spirits go there to die, and return from there to generally meddle in the lives of those of us who haven't yet made that journey. The spirits are supposedly very powerful, but extremely impatient. Sounds like a scary combination.
It's easy to see where an idea like this would come from when one considers the movement of the sun, and the weather, and other cosmic bodies. Some of the other stories are a little harder to explain, but I'm sure we can come to an understanding eventually.
Human gravity, as an aphysical elemental force, is something that I would like to discuss. Relativity and gravity are subjects that I find irresistibly unavoidable.
